There are tons of new arrivals in Chiarafashion this week that means heaps of pretty new party dresses for me.

First up I spotted this retro style red heart print dress. It’s quite a flexible party dress because I am able to dress it down with sandals in the day and add some heels and a clutch for a classic party look and the halter neck make it into a nice summer dress. I found some other great going out dresses like this tiny polka dot number, a classic skater style dress which can again be dressed down for an off-the-cuff day look or dressed up with a waist belt for an evening out.

Polka dot dress collections are huge at this time so it’s bang on trend too. Another great party dress is this lace dress, from the front it appears to be extremely simple but the back is just about all sheer lace, a really horny dress. It shows just the correct amount of skin and lace is always a triumph in my judgment. It’s available in other colors except for now I am sticking to classic black to help me get that ageless stylish look.

Lastly, while shopping at Chiarafashion I usually spare time to pick up some new jeggings. What did we do before jeggings? I should never know Thankfully now I have all of the jeggings I could ever desire at my fingertips.

In particular I like these pocket detail ones, convenient for wearing with shorter tops in the summertime as they look more like jeans than leggings, ideal for crop tops.

Well if the Oscars are where the highstreet gets their fashion inspiration for the year, one thing is for certain, gold chains are back, and the bigger the better. With actresses like Sandra Bullock and Carey Mulligan opting as usual for a naked neckline, Nicole Kidman, Kate Blanchet and Keri Russel showed that they weren’t afraid to wear big chains. Nicole Kidman’s necklace descended in a cascade of icicle-like chains and really stole the show, whilst Kate Blanchet’s two tier gold chain was finished with a large emerald centred pendant. They say that the Academy Awards red carpet is the world’s most important cat walk, and as we approach the rest of the year it will be exciting to see whether the style of big and bold chains and necklaces worn at the Oscars will be replicated across here in the UK.
